The Excelsior Scholarship Program, also called the Excellence in Teaching Scholarship Program (etsp) is a program created by the United States Department of Education. The goal is to help high school graduates who demonstrate exceptional academic achievements and promise to become successful scientists, educators, or research professionals. In order to qualify for this scholarship program, you must: be a high school senior who plans to major in an area of science that falls within the purview of the Department of Education, and whose intended major will be Mathematics, Science, Engineering, or math in some other area. You must also declare this on your undergraduate admissions form. Please note that Excelsior is not responsible for evaluating current academic standing.

There are actually two types of Excelsior Scholarships – financial need and academic achievement. Financial need scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need. Academic achievement scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievements.

The academic year award list for Excelsior Scholarship Program contains over two hundred scholarships. These include not only the top awardees, but also those which are considered “top contenders.” These are the students on the waiting list for either of two special awards made by the United States Federal Government. The Federal Pell Grant is the one which students are automatically eligible to receive, while the National SMART Scholarship is an academic year award given to students who excel both in their high school and outside studies. This scholarship class is limited to undergraduates. Let us know more information about national merit scholarship .

The goal of the scholarship program is to give financial need high school seniors a chance to earn a college degree and improve their lives. To do this, they have to apply for four-year colleges. If your grades are less than a “B” average, you should be aware that this is not enough to qualify for an award of tuition reduction. The student must still have excellent educational results. It is very important that the student has a well-rounded curriculum.

When you apply for a scholarship program, the requirements are the same as the ones required for federal student aid. The only difference is that a disabled American citizen who has not attained 18 years of age must be admitted. The application is available online. Students can complete it in their spare time. For more information, you can visit the website of the National Center for scholarship program for disabled individuals.
